A Family Tradition...
Zio, the
Italian word for "uncle," lends its name to the neighborhood Italian
restaurant located in the Myers Park area of Charlotte, NC. Named in honor
of owner, Jim Consol's late Uncle Adolph "Duff" Consol, Zio serves up
authentic Italian recipes. With a family heritage from the Abruzzo
province of central Italy, recipes are authentic, such as traditional
thin-crust pizza, spaghetti arribbiatta and homemade pasta with
slow-cooked meat sauce.

Consol's uncle established
Duff's Restaurant and Tavern five decades ago in the Endicott area of
upstate New York. You can still visit Duff's today. It has been renamed Consol's.

Zio continues the tradition
of affordability and quality ingredients. It's a family run, neighborhood
restaurant that feels like home. The restaurant also includes a full bar
serving Italian and California wines and domestic, imported and
micro-brewed beers.
 Our philosophy is
simple: To serve authentic Italian food in a friendly and casual
setting, at a good value. Many of our recipes were brought over from Italy
with my grandmother and have been enjoyed by our family for many years.
Our family has also fed legion of patrons since 1946 at our upstate New
York restaurant. So please relax and enjoy yourself and if we can do
anything to make your visit with us more enjoyable, please ask. your
comments and suggestions are always welcome.
